Imagine you’re an intrepid traveller, going on a journey to a magical land…

The route is dangerous – there are wild storms, rough terrain and fire-breathing dragons along the way that could stop you in your tracks at any point.

Luckily, you happen to own a special bubble craft.  This soft, flexible, almost invisible craft, disguises and protects itself from all the possible dangers ahead.  The bubble craft floats smoothly through the landscape, protecting you from harm, camouflaging you from threats and allowing you to travel the route safely.

When you reach the magical land, the bubble craft passes through the magic wall, because it’s made of the same stuff, and magically, you’re exactly where you need to be!

And that’s how liposomes reach your cells (with a bit more science and a bit less magic.)

We are very glad you asked.

Happy Little Owls® products are #poweredbylipolife®.  We’re a proud sub-brand of the most effective, authentic liposomal brand on the market.
Visit the lipolife website.

Researched, developed and produced at our very own HQ in the UK, our products use SAIFx® Technology.  We can prove the presence of liposomes, the levels of nutrients and the quality of all our formulations, because that’s what it means to be a reputable brand and manufacturer of genuine liposomal supplements. Plus Chip really likes looking at liposomes through a microscope.

When it comes to formulating liposomal supplements in liquid form, there’s one unavoidable scientific reality: you cannot create a stable, safe, and effective product without using potassium sorbate — unless the product contains no water at all.  Most liposomal supplements do contain a water phase. That’s just how liposomes work.

This isn’t a matter of opinion — it’s a matter of chemistry and microbiology.

Our Chief Scientist is not only a Professor of Pharmaceutics & Nanomedicine, but also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, one of the highest recognitions in the field. His expertise isn’t theoretical. It’s applied, tested and globally recognised.

So, what does that mean for those other products on the market that claim to be liposomal but “preserved naturally” or claim to not use potassium sorbate?

The answer is simple and unfortunate: they do use potassium sorbate, they just don’t tell you.

In many cases, the preservative is present under a different name, embedded in a compound or just not declared at all. That’s a serious concern when transparency and consumer safety should come first.

Happy Little Owls believe you deserve honesty. That’s why:

  • Our liposomal supplements use potassium sorbate because it’s the safest, most effective option for preserving a water-based liposomal formula.
  • We don’t use ethanol, which can be harsh and damaging to sensitive tissues.
  • We also avoid excessive glycerol which some brands use in high quantities to mask formula instability, potentially putting your little one’s health at risk.

In recent decades, UK diets have shifted due to busy lifestyles, increased processed food consumption and a reduction in home cooking.

As a result:

  • 1 in 3 children in the UK consume fast food at least once a week (NHS Digital, 2023). In fact, research indicates a significant rise in fast food outlets near UK schools. Since 2014, nearly 1000 new outlets have opened within 400 metres of schools, with 76% of Domino’s branches located this close. (Research by Dr Jody Hoenink, a Medicine Research Council-funded epidemiologist at Cambridge University. You can read the full report here.)
  • Consumption of fruits and vegetables is well below recommended levels.  According to the National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS), only 18% of children aged 5–15 meet the “5 A Day” fruit and vegetable guideline.  A study involving 9000 UK students in 2021 found that only 25% met the recommended intake of five servings of fruits and vegetables per day.
  • Vitamin D deficiency is common. In 2021, over 20% of children aged 11–18 had levels below the recommended threshold.
  • Iron intake is low, especially in girls: 54% of teenage girls had iron intakes below the Lower Reference Nutrient Intake (LRNI).
  • Intakes of vitamin A, calcium, iodine and zinc are also below recommended levels for significant portions of children.

The government recommends all children aged 6 months to 5 years are given vitamin supplements containing vitamins A, C and D every day.

We argue, why stop there? A comprehensive, quality multivitamin offers a practical and evidence-backed way to support children’s health.  We are not arguing that a multivitamin is a substitute for a balanced diet, but rather a necessary complement… a nutritional seatbelt for today’s fast-moving, convenience-driven, fast food culture.

Several legitimate studies have investigated the potential benefits of nutritional supplements for managing Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Let’s be clear, supplements are not a replacement for standard treatments like behavioural therapy or medication, but certain nutrients have shown promise in supporting symptom management.

    • Multiple randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and meta-analyses suggest that omega-3 supplements, particularly those high in eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), can modestly improve ADHD symptoms such as inattention and hyperactivity. The benefits are generally smaller than those observed with stimulant medications but are still statistically significant. (Source National Institutes of Health (NIH))
    • A systematic review and meta-analysis found that children with ADHD often have lower vitamin D levels. Supplementation has been associated with improvements in impulsivity and conduct issues. Notably, a study published in The Lancet Psychiatry linked low neonatal vitamin D levels to a higher risk of developing ADHD later in life.
    • An 8-week, placebo-controlled RCT involving children aged 6–12 showed that a broad-spectrum vitamin-mineral supplement led to significant improvements in attention, mood regulation and irritability.  54% of children receiving the supplement showed improvement, compared to 18% in the placebo group.

Important Considerations

  • Not all supplements are created equal. It’s crucial to choose high-quality products from reputable manufacturers.
  • Nutritional needs can vary. It’s advisable to consult with a specialist before starting any supplementation, especially for children.
  • Supplements should be considered as part of a comprehensive support plan, not as standalone treatments.

The best multivitamin for a child is obviously Happy Little Owls® Liposomal Multivitamin.
