Gone longer than expected…

I don’t want to make this a particularly long post but I know in the last post I said we would be gone for a while, while we set up YouTube. After much thought I decided against the idea. It’s been the longest that I’ve gone without posting. To be honest after I decided not to go down the YouTube route, I didn’t really know what direction the blog was going and decided to take some time out for myself. Home educating can be hard work at times and so it’s really important I have down time.

I want to start this blog up again but simply as a casual thing for friends and family to follow (and anyone else who is interested of course) which is actually what I originally intended when setting it up. I will still offer educational ideas and I do want to start making free downloadable content for my readers as I do really appreciate the support. I just wanted people to know that with life being so busy I cannot commit to weekly posts at the moment… I’m going to aim for once a month, maybe once a fortnight kind of thing.

I sincerely apologise for the absence and hopefully by setting myself some boundaries, I can continue to produce great content that others enjoy. Please let me know what kind of thing you’d like to see on here and I’ll do my best to put something together.

I know this was a bit long winded but I wanted to be 100% honest with my readers as I value you all very much. I want to thank all my readers and followers for sticking with me through my absence.

Meet Baby Elliot!

Just a quick post to say that we want to welcome a new little person into the world and into our home!

Sorry for being so quiet lately. Pregnancy was quite tough this time around and we are now adjusting to having a new person in the house.

Hope you are all well and we will start posting regularly again soon!

We’ve missed you!

Once again, it’s been a while since we’ve posted. There’s a very good reason as to why we haven’t and all will be revealed very soon! We have some exciting things happening.

Just posting a quick catch up to say hello and just to say we haven’t forgotten about our wonderful readers. This week we went to the ‘Into Film Festival’ that is free to all home educators and schools. It happens annually – we weren’t quick enough at getting tickets last year but this year we were very fortunate to get tickets to go and see ‘The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie’. It was a fun day out for the girls and Ava decided to make a storyboard about the film.
Here is her completed storyboard. We downloaded the free storyboard template from Twinkl. You don’t need to be a paying member to download this.

Tickets to the film festival aren’t available anymore until next year but why not turn your front room into a cinema? Watch your child’s favourite film and get them to write up a storyboard – or read your child their favourite book and do the same thing.
Feel free to share pictures on our Facebook page of how you got on. We would love to see your home made cinemas and storyboards.

So very grateful

Today we attended our weekly home ed’ meet up. As I reflect on the day, I can’t help but just feel complete gratitude. Watching two people, that came from my body, interacting – actually blows my mind!image

I know all siblings play together but today, for the first time, I saw a special bond between them that I honestly haven’t seen before. I saw they were looking out for one another, helping each other, sticking up for each other and comforting one another. I witnessed first hand how their personalities compliment each other.

Perhaps because I was an only child for 13 years, I had no expectations for what sibling life was going to be like. Maybe all siblings are this close sometimes..? But for me, what I saw today was magical.

Magical – like gazing up at the night’s sky and catching a glimpse of a shooting star… Or when my toddler-self saw a hedgehog through the patio doors, nibbling away at the food I had just put out. Those magical moments I truly treasure and I’m so grateful to be a part of them.

I love my little ladies so much that my heart feels like it could actually burst. I still have to pinch myself every now and then as I cannot believe how lucky I am to have them in my life.

I never want these magical days to end.

New beginnings!

Firstly, I want to apologise for having not posted in so long. Unfortunately I was going through a very stressful time in my life which meant I just didn’t feel up to blogging on top of our already busy lifestyle. We suffered at the hands of very abusive and antisocial neighbours which lead to us having to move home. Thankfully our new home is much nicer and although I was sad to leave the home that my youngest daughter was born in, I have now come to terms with everything. I’m in a much happier place to start blogging and sharing our journey once again.

There’s so much to catch up on! I don’t think it’s possible, so I will just tell you about some exciting new things we are going to be doing.

Ava started swimming lessons today and she is also starting rainbows soon! We are also going to be taking on a cooking project on a weekly basis (Fridays!) so keep your eyes peeled for that as we will be sharing our recipes with you all. We will also be embarking on plenty of other craft projects that we will also be sharing!

I apologise for the very slap dash post but it would take me all day to write a post covering four months of activities! I just wanted to drop by to let you all know we are still here and plan to start sharing our journey with you, once again.
