The weather tree

This is our weather tree. Every morning, once we have finished our songs, we will be colouring in one leaf as part of our morning rhythm. It’s a great way to discuss the weather and seasons with small children. It’s also a really simple way to keep routine – even for those with the most busiest of lives. It can be started at any time of the year and the whole thing comes blank, making it very flexible. You could even add more leaves to the key for different weathers such as thunder, hail and rainbows – there is room, we just strimmed ours down to make it more compact.

We have decided to put our weather tree by our season table.

The weather tree can be found in All Year Round: A Calendar of Celebrations (Festivals and the Seasons) along with other fabulous ideas for different occasions throughout the year.

I look forward to showing you what our tree looks like in 365 days time!
